On September 20th, 2012 Outward Bound hosted a 4k trail run to benefit over 4,000 students from the greater Boston area. These students attended summer environmental programs at the education center on Thompson Island. JEC Service Company participated in this race, along with some close colleagues from the construction industry and local business community.
Wayne Greenwood the President of JEC Service Company was actively involved in the benefit and stated, “It was a wonderful day for this race. To be part of such a wonderful cause was truly inspiring for the entire team including myself. The Outward Bound Education Center works extremely hard to ensure that their students are given the best experience possible while attending the educational camps. It is important to us at JEC Service Company to make sure that we do what we can to contribute to future generations. The entire JEC team, along with our friends and colleagues, felt a great deal of solidarity after being able to take part in such a special day benefiting a worthy cause.”
The Outward Education Center focuses on outdoor education for Boston students in Grades 5 through 8. The benefits from this road race go toward improving the curriculum and every aspect of the overall experience for the students.
